What is Reflexology?
Reflexology is a natural healing art based on the principle that there are reflexes in the feet, hands and ears and their referral areas within zone related areas, which correspond to every part, gland and organ of the body. Through application of pressure on these reflexes, the feet being the primary area of application, reflexology relieves tension, improves circulation and helps promote the natural function of the related areas of the body.
What to expect during your Reflexology treatment at Flow?
1. Preparation: Your feet will be first refreshed. Then they will be massaged to induce a state of relaxation and bring good blood circulation. After the massage, you will be asked to take three deep breaths while your therapist applies pressure to a point on your feet that corresponds to your solar plexus.
2. Reflex Treatment:
The therapist will be working on one foot at a time, leaving the other one covered. By using mostly her thumb, she will be working each of the reflexes.
The Reflex treatment will take around 40 minutes.
3. To finish: your therapist will give your feet a light warming massage. Then will ask you to take three deep breaths while applying pressure to the Solar Plexus reflex point.
